adventures in weekending: gallivanting in the village

I had every intention of just getting a slice of pizza for lunch and making a beeline for the Bowery Kitchen store, and though I did fulfill my goal (and got myself a brand spankin' new skillet!), there were a few unexpected stops along the way. What was supposed to be a two hour outing ended up being eight hours of long walks, talks, impromptu concerts in the park, Japanese barbecue, cheap Guinness, bumping into familiar faces, gelato on a stick and cool street art.

With the hoards of rambunctious people in green celebrating, it was hard not to catch that infectious energy. I could blame it on the magic of St. Paddy's Day. Or the beautiful spring-like weather. But it was probably a combination of the two. I'll stick with that.

Unplanned adventures are usually the best... Looks like you had a great day! I had to work all day on St. Patty's day... Hopefully next year I'll get to join in on the festivities!

Spring weather in New York, and stormy weather in San Diego? The tides have turned...

You'll have to tell me the best pizza places in NYC so I can have a proper slice when I visit!! :D

I love all the colors you always have in your weekend pictures. That pizza looks a-mazing. And the gelato on a stick? I didn't even know what it was until I read the bottom of the post but I knew from the picture that I wanted it. I hope your week is off to a great start!

I was in town for a bachelorette party, and it really was hard not to get in the spirit of St. Paddy's day. :)
