adventures in weekending

Every time I get together with my best friends, we're always left saying, "Why don't we do this more often?".   When we hang out, good-natured tomfoolery, endless chitchat and good times are guaranteed.  And of course, stuffing our faces. But this goes without saying.

Nana is one of our favorite restaurants in Brooklyn so it was only natural that we had our late lunch here.  Large amounts of sushi, roti canai, veggie spring rolls, flat noodles and pineapple fried rice were consumed.  Incredibly yummy.

Ending a meal with dessert is a necessity.  I had coconut flan with a lemony sauce and toasted coconut shavings..  Pure goodness! It's terrible as I write this with an empty stomach.

We get really happy when it comes to food.

Then, my belated birthday cheesecake arrived, so that meant...yup, a second dessert. I walked out of that place stomach first!

Later, Val joined us as we winded down with some thoughtful conversation and a gorgeous evening view of the Verrazano.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.  I heart my friends.

Magdalena - NY cheesecake is the best! I love it....such a sweet indulgence.

Gabriella - I know! The time flew by too quickly.

Rebecca - Definitely do. It's such a quiet place (around lunch time, anyway), which I love. And make sure to request outdoor seating!

Everyone - Thank you for the belated birthday wishes and wonderful compliments on food pictures! Food is one of my favorite things to take pictures of. Glad you enjoy them, too!
