adventures in weekending: and the hunt continues? (brought to you by picplz)

I don't want to jinx anything so I'll just say this:

I think our apartment-hunting may soon come to an end. If all the pieces fall in the right place and me and Bob get what we want, then that means we'll have a place to live very very soon.

We kicked our searching efforts into high gear and saw several possibilities...and one that we kind of fell in love with. It was probably one of the most draining weekends. Constant walking, making appointments, exploring more of the neighborhood and making difficult decisions (should we go with the more spacious one or the newly renovated one that's a bit smaller?).

Rarely did we break in between to stop and take some photos of our adventures. And when we did, they were taken via my phone. It felt strangely liberating not to have my bulky Nikon with me. And the cool effects are thanks to a nifty little app called picplz. See, iPhone Instagram users don't get to have all the fun.

All this talk about a new apartment has us nostalgic for the neighborhoods we grew up in:

Bob: I'm going to miss the smell of that dirty sewage river that's so distinctly Maspeth. It reminds me that I'm home.

Me: Don't worry. We'll make our own smells in the new place.
